Welcome to Alberton Yesteryear and beyond
What is a town without its history? I have always enjoyed learning about the history of places but never looked into the town I have called home for several years now. When I started Alberton Company Info website, I decided to learn about the town's history as well and why not share it with everyone. So many companies must have amazing stories on how they started and what they have gone through. I wanted to document these stories for future generations ensuring that the history will not be lost. I cannot wait to hear all these incredible stories and share it with everyone.
Pic. The Eaves family was one of the first English pioneers and they lived on the corner of Piet Retief Street and 5th Avenue. Mr Eaves was on the Town Council as well. He planted a row of oak trees in 5th Avenue from which only one remains - about 108 years old!
